Our Community Wellbeing Centre
Once upon a time…an 1800’s site of Cooperative Buildings existed, empty and unused…
To the rear of the site, the old stables lend themselves to a much needed and desired restoration and rejuvenation project to create a Community Wellbeing Centre.
The wellbeing centre, led by Live Well North East CIC, will be housed within the wider site which is being, unit by unit, restored to bring a Social Enterprise Hub to the village. Working in partnership with a number of other social enterprises, LWNE are working towards a shared vision to create a community hub that will enable community education, training, support, activities and services to enhance wellbeing, increase employability, improve community cohesion, encourage enterprise, economy and significant social impact.
LWNE’s Community Wellbeing Centre (CWC) will deliver their emotional wellbeing services and activities from the CWC, working towards supporting all aspects of wellbeing and promoting positive mental health. A goal to build a sensory hub, space to run Resilience Workshops, Men’s Mental Health groups, supporting all aspects of mental health for all.
Providing community fitness for children, young people and adults, challenging barriers to participation in physical activity and encouraging inactive community members to become active in a welcoming, friendly and engaging environment.
